HC Bench In Kurnool, Jagan Out Of Picture

A resolution was introduced in the Assembly to set up a permanent bench of the High Court in Kurnool. Minorities Minister Mohammad Farooq introduced it in the Legislative Assembly and the Assembly moved it unanimously.

There has been a demand from people for a long time to set up a High Court bench in Kurnool. Kurnool was the capital of Andhra state which was first formed on a linguistic basis. Between 2019 and 2024, Jagan tried to divert the people of Kurnool in the name of Judicial Capital.

However, to move the High Court completely is a very big process and needs the intervention of the Supreme Court and the Parliament.

YSR Congress did not move the issue an inch. But then, the new government made a quick move on this.

The Resolution will now be sent to the Central Government. Since it is only a Bench, the process will be much easier now.

Also, the TDP has a significant say in the NDA as the Government is dependent on the TDP’s numbers. So, it will make things easier.

It is interesting to note that the YSR Congress was not present in the house when the Resolution was moved.

That means the YSR Congress will have no role in this important step pertaining to the State and the long-standing of the people of Kurnool.
