More Hurdles for KCR’s Flagship Scheme

Telangana government had laid foundation stones for several 2BHK flats for poor before the GHMC elections but the constructions did not begin as of now. There is an acute land crunch for the prestigious project. There is no government land available in Hyderabad to take up the project and it is highly impossible to purchase the needed land.

Hence the government had decided to vacate the people in slums and use that land for the scheme. However the officials are finding it touch for people living there to vacate the land and hand it over. Government is promising occupancy certificate for them and will be giving them a 2BHK flat after the construction.

But the resident of the slums are refusing to believe the government’s word. The residents are demanding alternative accommodation for them until the construction is complete and legal documents promising 2BHK flat. Amid all these problems, the project has become a non-starter.
