The air in Hyderabad is turning toxic, and it’s time you take notice. The Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) reported that the city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) crossed 350 over the past two days a level that signals serious health risks.
For years, people linked poor air to Delhi during Deepavali. But this time, Hyderabad faced the same problem. The festival of lights turned into a festival of smoke as fireworks choked the city’s air.
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said pollution levels shot up to 338 during Deepavali, far beyond the safe range. Normally, an AQI between 150 and 200 already harms your health. Crossing 300 means dangerous exposure.
Experts warn that breathing such air can cause respiratory issues and worsen existing conditions. If this trend continues, Hyderabad may have to celebrate a quieter, cleaner Deepavali in the future.
