Hyderabad Gets Too Little in Budget

While Hyderabad gives the major share of revenue for Telangana, it has got very little from the 150000 Crore Budget tabled by the state government. GHMC has got 1000 Crore, Musi Riverfront Development Project has got 350 Crore and another 377 Crore for City Roads.

Major Infra development projects will have to totally rely on loans. Hyderabad Metro Rail project, HMDA, and HMWSSB will also have to depend on loans for mobilizing funds. Major problems are plaguing the city which is struggling to meet the growing population but the budget allocations are just not enough.

Extra-budgetary resources are to be raised for the development of urban infrastructure. But then the government still will not allow GHMC to increase the taxes fearing a backlash from the people. So, problems in store for the mega city in the next one year.
