
It is said that the department held meetings with honchos of IT/ITeS companies to take stock of preparedness for lone-wolf terror attacks, hostage crisis or other emergencies. Companies were asked to keep blueprints of their buildings ready and ensure complete surveillance of their premises in case of any untoward incidents.
Many IT firms already have systems in place to block the social networking sites. Police department reportedly warned them to ban the access to social networking groups associated with Iraq, Syria, Pakistan and other terror-hit countries. However there are no written orders in this aspect as the Freedom of Speech questions will arise.
