Hyderabad Metro Betters its Own Record

Hyderabad Metro Rail which set a record of serving Two Lakh Commuters on the first day of its commercial operations bettered the record on the first Saturday after its inauguration. It has shattered all records with 2.1 lakh commuters hopping on for a ride till 9.30pm on Saturday.

The unprecedented holiday rush, thanks in large part to excited first-time riders wanting a joyride. The authorities and security were in a tizzy with the huge crowds. A similar response is expected on today (Sunday) as well.

Trains are being run at a frequency of seven minutes between Miyapur-Ameerpet (13 km) and 15 minutes between Ameerpet-Nagole. Only three rakes are being attached to every train and they may be increased later to accommodate the demand.
