The frequency is likely to be increased to five minutes a train in both directions at least during the morning and evening peak hours from April 1st. However, the three car trains will be continued at least for a few years, sources say.

L&T opines that the three car trains with increased frequency will be sufficient to tackle the expected passenger demand of up to one lakh a day. Less speed currently is due to communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) technology has not been completed between Mettuguda and Begumpet (9 km).
