Hyd Metro realignment endangers heritage structure

In order to save the old Assembly building, Telangana government had proposed a metro route alignment to take a turn near the DGP’s office to join at Haj House opposite Public Gardens via Jubilee Hall buildings. This realignment plan to save the heritage assembly building however is endangering one more heritage building.

Due to this realigment plan, the century-old Jubilee Hall structure may collapse any time as it will be unable to withstand the vibrations due to the Metro Rail operations. The heritage structure had to undergo major repairs to withstand them.

However this realignment proposal is still pending with Telangana government for several months. This had halted the works on this route for more than year escalating the cost of the project.
