I Need to Learn Work-life Balance From My Wife

AP HRD Minister Nara Lokesh was candid in his views during his talk at the India Today Conclave, 2025.

Lokesh replied by saying that his wife pays his credit card bills amidst applause from the audience. He went on to say that they are second generation entrepreneurs. What many don’t know is the entrepreneurial side of Mr Naidu, he said.

Lokesh shared that his father started a dairy company way back in the ’90s. It is a listed company with a Rs 4500 crore market cap, said Lokesh.

He went on to say that his wife Brahmi (Brahmani) is the executive director of the company who looks after the day-to-day operations of the Company.

Lokesh was all praise for his wife and said that if there is anything he has to learn from her, it is work-life balance. She does it far better than I could have ever imagined, he said.

Lokesh added Brahmani takes care of business, their only son Devansh and of course the other son which is me. She is busy calling up telling me to take care of my health and other things.

I feel women do a much, much better job when it comes to work-life balance than men do, said Lokesh.

I feel women’s day should not be celebrated on one day but everyday. As HRD Minister, I am making changes in the curriculum. For example, household chores. Why should women be shown doing them. From this year, it is going to be 50-50 pictures of household chores showing both men and women.

I feel the change should happen from education, said Lokesh.
