The state is on the heat of elections and the public as well as the political parties are eager to participate in the elections. Recently, Municipal elections took place in many districts of the state. Basing the predictions of the results of the municipal elections, betting has started. Few people have started acting as brokers for betting and many people have started placing bets on who will win in the elections.
It was found that in few places of Vijayawada, this betting business is going on. Many politicians are placing bets claiming that their party will win in the elections. Bets variating from 20 lakhs to 1 crore are being placed. The betting brokers are offering a 1:2 ratio, which means that the winner will get double the movie he invested. And because of that, more and more amount is being used for betting. Although Police are trying their best to stop these illegal acts, they are not finding any success.
The results will be out on April 9, 2014 and till then, this betting business will go on unless some strong external force is acted upon it. These municipal elections are very critical as the results of these elections will give us an idea of the mood of the public and thereby, one can predict how many votes will a certain political party get and who has higher chances of getting into power.
