Impressed with Responsive Govt, HCL Offers Massive Investment in AP

HCL which has announced a BPO in Andhra Pradesh is now mulling the option of setting a High-end Technology and Engineering Development Center to encourage Research and Development. The Company is very impressed with the state government’s Ease of Doing Business and made this proposal.

The company is seeking 50 acres of land for this facility. 10 acres will be given in Amaravati while the remaining 40 acres will be given near Medha Towers in Gannavaram. The company is promising employment opportunities to 8000 people through this facility.

HCL Technologies has been expanding its footprint in tier-2 cities since the past few years. It has establishments in Lucknow, Madurai etc. HCL will be the first IT Major to set shop in AP after bifurcation. This will boost the local employment to a great extent due to the proximity to several leading engineering colleges in and around Vijayawada
