India Today Survey: Jagan’s Celebration Premature?

YSR Congress and its supporters are rejoicing India Today’s Mood of the Nation survey conducted by C Voter. The survey gave 18 MP seats to YSR Congress and the remaining seven will go to Telugu Desam Party.

YSR Congress is celebrating this survey but then, there are doubts about the credibility of this survey. The same C Voter had released a Post-Poll survey of Andhra Pradesh immediately after 2019 elections.

The Survey has given fourteen MP seats to TDP and eleven to YSR Congress. Forget about winning, TDP could only manage three MP seats only with slight majority.

In the same survey in January this year, Jagan‘s popularity ratings were at 40%. In the latest survey, the ratings have gone up to 57%.

Any one who follows Andhra Pradesh Politics will clearly know that there is nothing that could drastically improve Jagan’s image in the last seven months. In fact, there can be a chance to lower the ratings further.

It is not a surprise that North Survey agencies struggle to catch the pulse of the South. Considering all that the celebration of YSR Congress appears premature.
