Indian-American Teen Aarya Crowned Miss India USA 2022

In the 40th year of the pageant, Indian American teen Aarya Walvekar from Virginia was crowned Miss India USA 2022. The pageant has been the longest-running Indian pageant outside of the USA. The beauty contest was started by NY-based NRIs Dharmatma and Neelam Saran. It is held under the banner of Worldwide Pageants.

The event was held in New Jersey and was attended by singer Shibani Kashyap, Khushi Patel, Miss India Worldwide 2022, and Swathy Vimal, Mrs. India Worldwide. Aarya (18) aspired to be an actress and wishes to work in TV and films. She loves exploring new places, cooking, and debating.

Saumya Sharma, a pre-medical student from the University of Virginia, was declared first runner-up, and Sanjana Chekuri of New Jersey was the second runner-up. Akshi Jain of Washington State was crowned Miss India USA, and Tanvi Grover of New York was crowned Miss Teen India USA.

About 74 contestants from 30 states were judged in three different pageants – Miss India USA, Mrs. India USA, and Miss Teen India USA. Winners of all three categories will be getting complimentary tickets to Mumbai early next year to take part in Worldwide Pageants organized by the same group.
