Indian Cricketers Following Balayya’s GPS

Recently, we have been watching an advertisement in which Indian cricketers are seen sporting jerseys which have the cricketers’ mother names on the back. Many thought that it was only a part of the advertisement as an ad of the ‘Nayi Soch’ for Star India Network campaign.

Now, we have witnessed that they had actually sported their mothers’ names on the back of their jerseys in the fifth one-day international against New Zealand on Saturday. It was really nice to see them using their mothers’ names instead of their own names on the jerseys.

The campaign says, ‘We are as much for our mother as we are to our father’. In India, we have the tradition of using the surname of father and even mothers use their in-laws’ surname, dropping the surname they get from their parents. This is quite a new trend but an apt recognition a mother should get in the life of her child Don’t you agree?

Of late, we have seen Balakrishna following this kind of trend for the movie launch of his ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni‘. He used his mother’s name for invitations for inviting for CBN, KCR and others. Even director Krish used his mother’s name for his wedding invitations. So, the trend has caught with the celebrities. Hope, it will become a trend among the commoners even.
