Indian Man Dies in US Immigration Custody

An Indian who was 58-Year old has passed away at a Kansas hospital on Tuesday. The man was in custody of the American customs officials who stopped him at the immigration alleging that he had not had the proper immigration documents.

The man named Atul Kumar Babubhai Patel has undergone a preliminary medical screening where they found out that Patel had raised blood pressure and diabetes. He was taken into custody at the Atlanta detention center and was held there for two days during which he faced breathing problem and was shifted to a hospital in Atlanta where he passed away on Tuesday.

Speaking about the incident, the customs department said that such cases are really rare that a person in the custody passes away as the department strictly takes care of the well-being of the detainees. Patel’s death news was sent to his family by the Indian consular officials.
