The young lady was identified as Jaahnavi Kandula and she was struck a police car that was attending an emergency call given by the Seattle Fire Department.
The report from Seattle Times read that the King County Medical Examiner’s office identified that Jaahnavi had died due to multiple blunt force injuries.
The police officer had been with the force since November 2019, and at this point, there’s no reason to believe there was any intention to hit the woman willingly, read a media communication from Seattle Police Department.
Emergency services were called in immediacy and the Fire Department performed life saving procedures but the effort failed as Jaahnavi lost her life due to the injuries she has sustained.
An investigation is underway to determine the nature of the accident, the report from Seattle Times concluded.
