India’s first gun for women safety!

In the wake of increase in the crime against women across the Nation. The Indian Ordnance Factory, Kanpur, has manufactured a .32 bore light weight revolver exclusively convenient to women. This is the first gun manufactured for women in India. The gun is named Nirbheek after Delhi gang rape victim, Nirbhaya. Nirbheek is priced at Rs 1,22,360 and is convenient for women to carry in a purse or a small hand bag.

The revolver is capable of firing six rounds and will certainly come in handy for women at the time of distress with just 500 grams of weight. The manufacturer says so far 80% of the applicants of the weapon are women licensees. Most of these are working women who travel a lot as a part of their job. Whereas, there are some sections of people argue that this will increase the gun culture in the country which may also prove counter productive to the nation.
