Insufficient: Centre spills few more bucks for Polavaram

In the wake of NDA government completing One year in office, the Central government is making little amendments to make people of Andhra Pradesh happy. It is arriving that the center is going to release 900 Crore more to Polavaram project for this year.

In the Budget tabled this year, the Center had only sanctioned 100 Crore which was criticized by every one. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu exerted serious pressure on the Center regarding allocations to Polavaram and it paid off finally.

However the allocations are still not enough to complete the project in the next five years. The Project estimation reached 20000 Crores and can not be completed unless some 4000-5000 Crores are spent every year. The project is taken up as a National Project in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization as a result the Center has to bear all the expenses of the project.
