Interesting facts about Tamil Nadu elections

As the elections in Tamil Nadu are getting closer, we decided to give you a closer view of what is actually is happening and how many are contesting during these elections.

According to the election commission, a total of 3785 candidates are going to contest for 234 state assembly seats in the state. Out of them 3463 are males and 320 are females. Interestingly, two candidates belonging to transgender community are also contesting this time.

The chief ministerial candidates are DMK president M. Karunanidhi, DMDK founder A. Vijaykant, PMK’s Anbumani Ramadoss and of course the current CM Jayalalitha.

A lot of alliances have been formed by different parties making the elections even more interesting. The elections will be held on the 16th of this month and it will be very interesting to see as to who will win the CM’s post.
