IT employees highest paid segment in India!

According to Monster Salary Index (MSI), Information Technology segment employees are highest paid in India and they will be drawing a median gross hourly salary of Rs 346.42. Those working in the manufacturing sector get paid the least at Rs 254.04. However the highest paid people are also the least satisfied with their salaries.

Least pay in manufacturing sector will mean that government is focusing rightly on Make in India initiative. Those in manufacturing sector are being paid about 9% lesser than the median salary for the entire Indian economy taken together at Rs 279.7. Also foreign owned manufacturing companies pay nearly double of what Indian manufacturing firms pay their workers.

Salary is one of the key factors to attract and retain employees in India. Companies in the country fail to closely analyse the correlation between salaries and employee satisfaction. Monster Salary Index (MSI) is put forth by Monster.com, one of India’s leading job portal.
