It’s Not Cake-Walk for Danam in Khairatabad

While the BRS party has allotted the ticket to Danam Nagender, winning the upcoming election in Khairatabad constituency poses a significant challenge. Despite being the party in power for ten years, there is opposition both to the party’s governance and to Danam’s performance as the Khairatabad MLA, necessitating a strong effort for victory.

The BRS ranks are jubilant over the announcement of sitting MLA Danam Nagender as the party’s candidate for the Khairatabad constituency. However, this decision has dashed the hopes of Manne Govardhan Reddy, who had been working hard in the party with the expectation of receiving a ticket this time.

Within the Congress party, there are also contenders for the ticket in Khairatabad constituency. Corporator Vijaya Reddy and DCC president Rohin Reddy are hopeful candidates. Former MLA and party state vice-president Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, who previously won from BJP in this constituency, along with others, are also aspiring for the ticket.

The Congress party has gained momentum in this constituency compared to previous elections. The joining of the BRS Khairatabad corporator to Congress has bolstered the latter’s strength and could potentially weaken the ruling party’s position.

In addition, the BJP, which secured the second position in the last election, has been actively working to strengthen its grassroots presence. The party’s efforts to consolidate support at the booth level indicate that it will provide formidable competition.

The corporator of Jubilee Hills, who switched to the BRS party after the BJP’s success in the last corporation elections, retains a significant voter base. This strength extends to the Himayatnagar division as well, making the BJP a strong contender in the constituency.
