A few days ago, Azharuddin threatened to leave the party claiming that it has done injustice to Muslims in the tickets distribution. The party has pacified him and now appointed him as the Working President. There is a huge demand for Nominated Posts and Important Party Positions in Congress with the speculations of Mahakutami coming to Power.

Azharuddin is a former MP. An elegant wristy batsman, he played for India in three successive World Cups in a career that ended when he was accused and found guilty in a match-fixing scandal. He was banned for life by the BCCI, but the ban was lifted in 2006. He joined the Congress in 2009.
