YSRCP Protesting, Jagan Missing, No One Caring?

Unlike the Telugu Desam party, which is a fundamentally strong decades-old institution with a strong cadre, YSR Congress is relatively new and it’s almost entirely dependent on YS Jagan.

Jagan might be the undisputed face of YSR Congress, but he frequently goes into periods of hibernation when he’s in opposition.

For instance, Jagan had been spending long period of time at the comforts of Bengaluru Palace. He is spending most of the week in Bengaluru and coming to Andhra Pradesh only once a week.

The YSRCP ecosystem is trying to do whatever they can in terms of protests and public outreach programs but that’s not sufficient enough. Even today they initiated a protest against growing petroleum prices.

But instead of going after the NDA government at the centre, which is actually responsible for the increased prices, the local YSRCP troops went after Lokesh and other local leaders.

But whatever might be the outcome, the absence of Jagan has resulted in absolutely no public interest on these protests. As a matter of fact, the largest section of the population do not even know about existence of these protests for what they’re worth.

Without Jagan on the ground, there is absolutely nothing that YSRCP leaders can do on the ground that would invite public attention. So as long as Jagan decides to stay in hibernation at the comfort of the Bengaluru house, there’s little that will go the way of YSRCP in AP and that’s a hard fact.
