Jagan Has Higher Security Than Deputy CM

Minister Nara Lokesh has clarified in Assembly that Jagan Mohan Reddy was getting more security than Deputy CM.

Lokesh said that while Deputy CM had Z category security, Jagan had Z+ security. This was being provided irrespective of the fact that he was not the leader of opposition.

The provision was based on need and not personal considerations, Lokesh explained. There has been demand from the opposition YSRCP that Jagan was not being provided enough security.

However, in the past, Home Minister Anitha made it clear that Jagan was enjoying Z+ category with 58 personnel which cost the government Rs 30 lakh per month. She had said that Jagan was neither a minister or leader of opposition, but was still enjoying Z+ category security.

Another time when YSRCP raised an issue about Jagan’s security was when he visited the Guntur mirchi yard in February. The YSRCP members claimed that there were no police in the area which resulted in security lapses.

YSRCP blamed the government of reducing security on purpose. They also claimed that the government had given worn-out bulletproof vehicles. The same was the case when Jagan went to districts, they said.

But YSRCP cannot complain now as the security was shrinked during Jagan’s time for Chandrababu and Lokesh. While Babu got Z+ security, Lokesh’s was downgraded to Y.
