YS Jagan has the popular image of being one of the mass leaders in South India, but his party YSRC is currently facing existential price in Andhra Pradesh after the unanimous electoral mandate in 2024.
With YSRCP getting delegated to less than 10% of the seats in the Assembly, the responsibility is on Jagan to somehow keep the party alive in the memory of the common public.
In an attempt to achieve this, Jagan recently created a rage bait campaign with the name MAVIGUN where he proposed Machilipatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur as the capital region for AP.
Jagan have simply floated the idea of the land mass between these three regions and proposed it as the capital. But he specifically brought out this MAVIGUN term perhaps to grab the attention and create a social media rage, which he was successful but at the expense of umpteen trolls and memes.
And today we have a new diversion topic in the form of the attack on the ABN office in Hyderabad, saying they had a problematic report against YSRCP leaders. YSRCP supporters in Hyderabad breakout approach at the ABN office and created as scene there.
Back in 2019, when TDP got relegated to its worst ever position, the party chief Chandrababu did not lose the fighting spirit and kept the party active with his presence in assembly and waging public protests.
But in the case of Jagan, he is neither attending the Assembly, nor has he stepped out in the public till now. So there is this constant demand to keep an active discussion in the public, and this could be the reason why YSRCP is taking odd steps every now and again, opined an avid commentator who’s versed with AP politics.
