Jagan Skips Question on Capital Change

Opposition Leader, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy attended the India Today 2019 Conclave – National in New Delhi a little while ago. During his interaction with Journalist Rahul Kanwal, Jagan was asked if he will scrape the Amaravati Capital Project and Start A New Capital Elsewhere if he comes to Power in the upcoming elections.

Jagan termed the situation as ‘Catch 22’ and evaded the answer about the plans of the Capital Change. He went on speaking about how Chandrababu Naidu resorted to Insider Trading by buying the lands at cheaper prices through his Benamis before announcing the Capital. He termed it as a Breach of Secrecy Oath taken by him.

Jagan called the Land Pooling as another scam and alleged that land was forcibly grabbed from the people. He then accused Chandrababu Naidu of giving away lands to companies and Real Estate at throwaway prices for kickbacks. He even termed the deal with Singapore Government as a fraud. He moved on to Cash for Vote case without answering the question.

Recently Jagan Mohan Reddy shifted to his new house in Amaravati. Party sources say this is to instill the confidence in the people that the capital will not change. But Jagan’s statement at this Conclave clearly shows that he still has his reservations about the Capital and may well change it if given a chance.
