Jagan wants Center to falter on bifurcation promise

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his team of MLAs, MLCs and MPs are in Delhi meeting various party leaders complaining about the ongoing defections in Andhra Pradesh. On the other side, YSR Congress MP, YV Subba Reddy raked the issue in Parliament. YV Subba Reddy urged the center to give clarity about the possibility of increase of Assembly seats in AP.

YV Subba Reddy brought to the notice of the house that TDP is attracting YSR Congress MLAs on the promise of tickets in the next elections. YSR Congress sounded like they do not want MLA seats increase as that would make sure that there is a clash for tickets with TDP leaders and new MLAs coming from YSR Congress.

Union Home Minister Rajanadh Singh to the query of YSR Congress MP told that Law Ministry is examining the issue but refused to give any time frame for that. The increase of Assembly seats in both the Telugu States is a promise made in AP Reorganization Act but it can be done only with a constitutional amendment.
