Jagan Woke Up Too Late?

Opposition Leader, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote a letter to the Union Finance Minister last evening asking it to exempt Handlooms from GST Purview to save the industry which is already reeling under severe and several problems.

The Opposition Leader in Andhra Pradesh Assembly termed it as the only way to save the industry which is the second most dependent sector after agriculture in the country. But then, Jagan seems to have woken up too late as the GST Rates were finalized long ago.

Jagan was in New Zealand holiday when the GST Council meetings were taking place to finalize the rates. This letter at the last minute may not help as the proposed Goods and Services Tax will roll out from the midnight of June 30th, less than a week away.
