Jammalamadugu MLA Son Arrested In Drugs Case

Jammalamadugu BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy’s son Sudheer Reddy was arrested by police in a drugs case. Acting on information about drug use in Narsingi, police conducted a raid as part of a pre-planned operation by the Eagle Team.

Sudheer Reddy tested positive for drug consumption along with another individual. Following the medical test, police shifted Sudheer Reddy to a de-addiction centre as part of standard procedure in such cases.

After the high-profile drug raids during the BRS term, this is the first instance where the son of a known politician has been arrested in a drugs case. The development has drawn attention due to the political background involved.

The city remained on high alert during New Year celebrations. Apart from DJ-related checks, police did not register drug consumption cases during that period. However, just three days into the New Year, the arrest of an MLA’s son became a major talking point.

Police officials stated that Sudheer Reddy will undergo counselling before being taken into custody. Drugs are reportedly sourced from Bengaluru and Goa into the city. Based on information from earlier arrests, police tracked and detained him.

Investigations are ongoing to identify who supplied drugs to Sudheer Reddy and others involved in the case.
