It is known to our readers that the Janasena Party approached the High Court over the Symbol issue. The Election Commission issued Glass Tumbler symbol to Independents in seats where Janasena is not contesting.
As part of alliances with TDP and BJP, Jana Sena is contesting 21 Legislative Assembly and 2 Lok Sabha seats.
In the constituencies where the party is not contesting, the glass symbol has been put on the list of free symbols of the Election Commission and allotted to independent candidates.
Many TDP and Janasena Rebels and candidates with names similar to Janasena candidates have got the Glass Tumbler Symbol. There is a chance that the votes of Janasena will be transferred to these candidates due to the symbol confusion.
The Election Commission of India asked the High Court for 24 hours time to offer a resolution. Today in the court, the EC informed that it would not give Glass Tumbler symbol to other Independent MLA candidates if Janasena is contesting for a Parliament and to other Independent MP candidates where Janasena is contesting for Assembly.
The Court closed the matter for this Issue. But then, this is worst possible resolution, the EC has offered.
The problem is solved in the fourteen MLA segments under Machilipatnam and Kakinada Parliaments. And the Parliament segments in which 21 MLA contesting segments of Janasena.
The problem still persists in most of the Assembly segments. It will still impact the chances of the Vote Transfer. It is a surprise how lawyers of Janasena accepted the High Court to close the matter.
