Jaya Prakash Narayana To Contest From AP In 2024

Jaya Prakash Narayana is better known as the founder of the Lok Satta party and a political leader with ambiguous political agenda. Though he could initially attract ‘educated’ people with his anti-corruption stand, his words did not correlate with his actions.

To his credit, he won as an MLA from Kukatpally, but later lost when he contested for the MP seat from Malkajgiri constituency in 2014.

Due to Lok Satta‘s below-par performance in Kukatpally, he could not win the much-coveted Malkajgiri constituency and has maintained a low profile ever since. His Lok Satta party too has been relatively quiet. JP was heard making some comments now and then, but there was no party activity. Now, JP seems to have found a new ground in Andhra Pradesh.

News is that he has been asked to contest as MP from AP by his party members and they have taken a decision to this effect. This time around, JP’s agenda point is the issue of funds that the Centre promised for separate Andhra Pradesh.

Though he has become irrelevant in Telangana politics and in AP too there are already too many options available, we have to see if the ‘educated’ voters in AP will trust and give JP a chance once again.
