Is Jayalalithaa Suspecting NTR Like Coup?

Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa who is in the Intensive Care Unit of Apollo Hospitals, Chennai for the past 20 days is refusing to have an interim Chief Minister to keep the administration going. While the speculations about the interim Chief Minister are going on. Governor CH Vidya Sagar Rao the other day transferred all the portfolios held by Jayalalithaa to her confidante O Paneer Selvam.

O.Panneerselvam was appointed as interim Chief Minister previously on quite some occasions but Jayalalithaa, this time, do not want to do that because she is suspecting an NTR like Coup and does not want to trust anyone. After a landslide victory of TDP in 1983, NTR flew to a Heart Surgery in the USA in August 1984.

Nadendla Bhaskara Rao, a Senior Minister in NTR’s Cabinet took the support of main opposition party, Congress (I) and became the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh as Congress is at the Center. Finally, after a massive anti-Center protest recalled the governor and reinstalled NTR as CM – the only instance in political history of India when a dismissed CM was reinstated.

Jayalalithaa does not want that to happen to her. The Governor the other day while transferring all the portfolios went on to say that he is doing that at the request of the Chief Minister hinting that Jayalalithaa is conscious. But then Tamil Political circles believe that some are micromanaging everything while Jayalalithaa is unconscious and the Center is cooperating.
