Judgement Postponed on Vijay Devarakonda Petition

It is known that a case by representatives of girijan groups was filed against Vijay Devarakonda for making objectionable comments on girijans during a film promotion, under Rayadurg police station.

The case came for hearing on Thursday. The counsel on Vijay Devarakonda’s side argued that the actor apologized on social media. He also pointed out that a case was filed two months after the incident which showed malicious intent.

However, the complainants’ side argued that social media apology does not count.

Vijay Devarakonda had filed a petition in Telangana High Court asking to quash the case. The Court heard both sides on Thursday and postponed the judgement to a further date.

Vijay Devarakonda made the comments that later became controversial during the promotion of Surya’s Retro. Vijay had said that like the girijans fought in the past, India and Pakistan were fighting currently. A case was filed under SC, ST Atrocities Act.
