Kaleshwaram: Central Agency Raises Concerns

The Kaleshwaram project has been one of the hallmark implementations and irrigation projects under the KCR regime in Telangana and BRS proudly claims the same.

However, cut to now, central agency has raised serious concerns about the Kaleshwaram project and this has become a talking point.

The agency has performed an assessment of the sinking piers at Medigadda barrage and the relevant report doesn’t make for a good hearing for BRS leaders and its supporters.

“Sinking of piers is a result of a combination of issues related to planning, design, quality control, and operation and maintenance. Primary cause of the failure is the settlement of the barrage raft Damaged block may have to be structurally restored to make it functional.” The report from the central agency read.

The report is submitted by the National Dam Safety Authority and it’s a central agency. They’ve raised problematic and potentially harmful concerns about the safety of the project.

Meanwhile, the BRS troops are suggesting this report is a negative narrative built by the central government led by BJP. They say BJP is unable to bear the good work of the BRS government and hence the negative report.
