The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi sent BRS MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla to judicial custody in Tihar Jail until April 9. She was arrested for her alleged involvement in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam.
The CBI special court issued 9-page remand notices for Kavitha. A few of her requests have been approved by the court.
Kavitha would be allowed to use her own bed, mattresses, footwear, clothing, and blankets. She is also allowed to get books and home-cooked food. Kavitha is also allowed to take pen, paper, and medicines.
It’s been reported that Kavitha sought permission from the court to take jewellery with her, although it’s unclear what specific items she meant.
Typically, women aren’t allowed to wear jewellery in jail, except for certain traditional pieces like Mangalasutra and toe rings. Therefore, it’s presumed that Kavitha may have asked to wear such traditional jewellery rather than ordinary pieces.
