KA bans TV9-Kannada in KCR’s route!

TV9 management had to run pillar to post to get their services resumed in Telangana after they got banned by the state MSOs (on the insistence of the Chief Minister they say!). But couple of months later the Kannada version of the channel ran in to a similar trouble in the neighbouring Karnataka State.

It is said that the channel was gearing up to run a major expose against the Siddaramaiah government at 9.30pm in their prime time segment but was taken off air all of sudden. It is said that the channel services were barred by most MSOs of the state on the directive was issued by the state’s energy minister DK Shivakumar.

While Karnataka Congress Committee Professional Cell condemns the news of any such black out, it is confirmed from our sources that the channel is off air from Monday evening. They say this is the first of such instance where a news channel is blacked out in Karnataka state.
