BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha was produced before Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court earlier today after she was arrested by the CBI last evening. She was produced before the special judge Kaveri Baweja.
The CBI told the court that it needs five days of custody for Kavitha. It alleged that Kavitha was a key conspirator in the Delhi Liquor Scam case. It was further stated that Kavitha assisted Raghav Magunta in getting NOC for the company.
The CBI stated that in November-December 2021, Kavitha asked Sarath Reddy to pay Rs. 25 crores at the rate of five crores per zone. Reportedly, Sarath Reddy showed reluctance to pay such a huge amount. Then, Kavitha apparently threatened to harm his business.
CBI also alleged that Kavitha hadn’t given satisfactory answers during the interrogation in custody. It was said that she needs to be trapped with proper evidence. Thus, they sought five more days of extension of her custody.
