Kavitha On KCR, Personal Respect But Political Attack

Kavitha has made it clear that her criticism of KCR is political, not personal, drawing a sharp line between family and public life.

Speaking at a “Meet the Press” event organised by the Telangana State Union of Working Journalists in Hyderabad, she said she continues to respect KCR as a father but will openly question his political decisions.

“I have no issues with him as a father. But as a political leader, I have ideological differences and will continue to criticise,” she stated.

Kavitha launched a strong attack on the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi government, alleging that Telangana lost key opportunities after its formation. She claimed that despite spending ₹1.21 lakh crore, the benefits in irrigation were limited. She also pointed to repeated exam paper leaks, saying youth lost crucial years due to governance failures.

Positioning herself as a policy-driven alternative, Kavitha outlined the vision of her new party, Telangana Rakshana Sena. She said the party aims to represent all sections of society and focus on inclusive development, which she described as “Sarvodaya Telangana.”

She also spoke about the party’s name, saying several options were considered before “Telangana Rakshana Sena” was finalised, calling it a “divine decision.”

Kavitha introduced five key focus areas under what she termed “Panchajanyam,” covering education, healthcare, farmers’ welfare, employment and social justice. She promised to address rising education costs, provide free healthcare for major illnesses, ensure better support for farmers and create opportunities for youth through entrepreneurship.

Calling the current employment situation a “joke,” she said her aim is to transform youth from job seekers into job creators by offering financial support ranging from ₹2 lakh to ₹20 crore.

She also stressed the importance of social welfare, including housing for the poor and dedicated support systems for senior citizens, disabled persons and other vulnerable groups.

Addressing internal party issues, Kavitha questioned her suspension from BRS, stating that she was not informed of any mistake and criticised the lack of due process.

Overall, Kavitha is positioning herself as a strong alternative voice in Telangana politics, combining sharp criticism of past governance with a forward-looking agenda.

By separating personal respect from political opposition, Kavitha is signalling a more direct and issue-based approach to Telangana politics.
