KCR Govt. adding new frills to controversial FAST!

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had withdrawn the controversial FAST program with the interference of the high court. The state government had announced that they will go on with the previous criteria for the fees reimbursement which was in force since the United State. The announcement had come more than a month ago but there is no notification.

The information is that the government is adding frills to the old scheme. According to the new guidelines only those students who pursued schooling in TS for a maximum period out of seven years will be eligible for this scheme.

However this is still a deviation from the Presidential Order issued under Article 371 (D) of the Constitution. The latter will require only four years of study in a state for a student to become its ‘Local’. We will have to see if the courts will interfere once again in the implementation of this scheme.
