KCR Completely Outsmarted Naidu?

Telangana Government had decided not to pay 4449 Crore Pending Power Arrears to Andhra Pradesh since it will not need AP Power anyways. The Power Demand is steadily decreasing due to the onset of Monsoons and due to rains, Hydel Power will also become available.

Even if there is a need, there will be ample Power availability in the grid during the rainy season at cheaper costs and so Telangana government feels that it will be more beneficial to stop the payments for now since they do not need AP Power for now. Chhattisgarh Power will also be available very soon.

The Chief Minister reportedly asked the Officials to link the Power Arrears to Assets Sharing so that the repayment can be delayed as much as possible. “It is also a way to trouble economically and Chandrababu Politically,” a source in TRS tells us.

On the other side, there is a wide spread criticism on AP’s Strategy in this issue. “If at all AP Government wants to corner Telangana, it should have stopped the supply in Summer when the demand is at Peak. They just let the tough phase pass easy and made things difficult for them. Telangana will not look to AP until the next Summer,” a political analyst opined.
