KCR’s Condition for Supporting UPA?

UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi reportedly has invited Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for a meeting on 23rd of this month, the Results Day. Congress is seeking the help of TRS to ensure that Narendra Modi does not come to Power for one more term.

TRS leaders are telling that KCR is okay for taking the support of Congress but will not support a Congress led Government. But we are told that KCR is okay even for that but laid a Condition that the Grand Old Party should give up its chances in Telangana. It is natural that the party at the Center will fancy its chances in the States where they are not in Power.

But by supporting a possible UPA-3 Government will negate such chances. Congress is being decimated in Telangana by the TRS encouraging the defections. Congress’ Legislative Party will be merged into TRS Legislative Party very soon. This is the reward of KCR to Congress for giving Telangana after the initial promise of merging TRS into Congress.

Taking the support of TRS for UPA-3 will demoralise the leaders who stuck with the party in difficult times. TRS is previously a part of the UPA Government in 2004 and KCR was the Union Minister back then. However, all these calculations will depend on the results on 23rd and Congress should breach a Minimum of 100 seats to have any chances.
