KCR hell bent on demolishing Osmania

Telangana government seems to be mulling on second option for demolishing Osmania Hospital and building a new modern facility there. The government was taken back with stiff opposition from activists and individuals alike and so is bidding time before taking the final decision.

However government sources say that the Chief Minister is hellbent on demolishing the over 90 years old structure. They are waiting for the protests to die down and then they will go ahead and bulldoze the structure.

There were demands to repair the structure and plan to construct a building – as expansive as the existing heritage structure – within the same premises. Some experts say the proposed building was expected to throw open an extra 12.5 lakh square metres of space for the hospital besides saving the heritage structure.
