KCR Keen on Silencing Osmania Once for All?

Telangana Government had decided to neutralize the threat of Osmania University which is once a hotbed of Telangana Agitation. The Vice Chancellor of the University the other day sent a circular to everyone stating that Political Meetings and Protests are banned in the Campus and only research is allowed.

Students allege that it is a conspiracy of the government to curb the anti-government voices in the University. KCR visited the Campus in April after a gap of 7 years. The government has to resort to counseling to students, advance arrests, heavy barricading and media control to curb dissent.

The government even had to cancel the address of the Chief Minister suspecting that some students might heckle or raise slogans during the Chief Minister’s speech to embarrass the Government. After all that, KCR decided to silence Osmania once for all.
