KCR lives up to his word

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao had put up 25000 Crore for irrigation projects in this year budget. This is the highest allocation for the sector even in United Andhra Pradesh. Highest allocation till date is 17500 Crore in one year but only 12500 Crore is utilized out of the allocation.

But KCR government seem to have realized the importance of spending as well besides allocation. The Chief Minister is adamant about making 2000 Crore available every month for the sector. Living to the word, in the first month of this financial year, April, the government had spent 2000 Crore.

Pranahitha – Chevella and Kaleshwaram Lift irrigation projects together got about 745 Crore in this 2000 Crore. The government had paid for the pending bills of the last year and some new works this year. The government says that with timely payments, contractors will be more responsible and finish the projects on time.
