KCR lucky escapade: Helipad catches fire

On Wednesday, KCR went for Siddipet tour along with his cabinet ministers and irrigation officers. His main motto behind the tour was to take his ministers for live presentation of the working of the water grid scheme in Siddipet which would be providing water to 180 villages located around Siddipet. KCR travelled in a helicopter and a temporary helipad was created for the CM’s landing.

But around afternoon suddenly the helipad caught fire while still the CM’s helicopter is stationed in it. The fire spread fast to 10 square metres within seconds, which was brought under control by the fire brigade immediately. The security personnel and the officers present at the place saw the fast spreading fire and took immediate action.

It is learnt that the area where the helipad is built had a lot of dry grass (hay) which was run down flat to make the landing of CM’s helicopter possible. Accidentally this dry grass caught fire, leading to a lot of anxiety. But the presence of mind and instant action evaded danger for the CM and this is seen as a lucky escapade.
