KCR Mulling Yet Another Populist Scheme?

It’s raining sops in Telangana these days. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao recently announced Free Fertilizers Scheme for the farmers and now he is mulling on the idea to supply power to agriculture for 24 hours a day against the existing nine hours.

But then this will be a dangerous scheme if launched immediately since Telangana government is resorting to purchasing power at higher costs and 24X7 Free Power will mean that it will be a huge burden on the state exchequer.

Also, Power to Agriculture is totally free and it will be a huge uphill task for the government to meet this expenditure. On the other side, with this sudden rain of sops in Telangana, Political experts are wondering if KCR is contemplating to go for early elections.
