KCR do not want to disturb his honeymoon?

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is enjoying never before seen or never before heard public good will. It ensured that TRS will all the by-elections that came their way after 2014. With no election round the corner, there are various proposals to increase tariffs (Power, RTS, Property Tax etc) pending with the government.

Prominent of that is the power hike. Telangana Power discoms are proposing massing hike in tariff to fill their revenue gap for the year 2016-17. The discoms are in severe crisis and are in desperate need for funds either through tariff hike or government help. But KCR is sitting on the proposal as he do not want to foil people’s good will.

The Chief Minister believes that its ‘no hike’ decision helped the party win successive elections. Hiking Tarrifs would also give muscle to the almost dead opposition, KCR opined. But the problem is that the government is also not in a position to take the burden of the deficits from ailing institutions.
