KCR Plea Dismissed, SIT To Go Ahead With Inquiry

A major setback has hit KCR after his plea was dismissed by the Special Investigation Team. The SIT has confirmed that the inquiry will proceed as scheduled.

The SIT stated clearly that it cannot visit KCR’s Erravelli farmhouse in Markuk mandal of Siddipet district. Instead, he has been asked to be present at 3 pm on February 1 at his Nandi Nagar residence in Banjara Hills.

Officials pasted the notice on the wall of KCR’s residence and later handed a copy to his staff at the Nandi Nagar house. Earlier, KCR was supposed to attend the SIT summons on Friday.

KCR had requested the inquiry to be conducted at his farmhouse, citing his age, which is above 65. However, the SIT rejected the request and reiterated that he must be available at his residence on February 1.

According to the SIT, the address mentioned in KCR’s election affidavit is Nandi Nagar. Officials said there is a legal provision to summon an accused to the nearest police station.

Based on this provision, the SIT chose the Jubilee Hills police station. It also stated that KCR’s residence was selected keeping his age in mind, while rejecting any other venue for questioning.

The SIT further explained that sensitive documents need to be discussed during the inquiry. Transporting these documents to Erravelli was said to be impractical.

Citing all these reasons, the SIT insisted on KCR’s presence at his Nandi Nagar house. The development has once again sparked political buzz in Telangana.

Many believe this signals that the Revanth Reddy government is determined to proceed firmly against the BRS chief and former Chief Minister.
