KCR sweats ahead of first summer!

Andhra Pradesh Discoms have submitted their reports for next fiscal to APERC and they have confirmed that the power produced by Krishnapatnam and Hinduja will be completely belonging to them. This report shatters the hopes of Telangana on getting 1422 MW from both these projects. And this will severely impact Power supply of Telangana in the upcoming summer.

Both these projects produce 2640MW (Krishnapatnam 1600MW and Hinduja 1040MW) and Telangana hoped to get 53.89% (1422MW) fromm these projects. Even though Telangana government knocks the courts on this issue, it will take lot of time to settle and even if the judgement comes in favour of the new state, it is unlikely to come this summer.

The Hydro based Power plants in Telangana will not work from next month due to unavailability of water. This will continue for the next five months. 1500 MW Power deficit is expected in April and March. Also agriculture demand will increase from next month end. Temperatures will soar and it will increase the usage of power in households. Considering all this the first summer (after the new state formation) in Telangana will be much more hot.
