Till now, BRS chief KCR has not spoken about his successor and neither did the party hold any meetings regarding the matter. But former minister and MLA Harish Rao’s comments have raised eyebrows in political circles.
Harish Rao has said that he had no plans of changing the party. While that is sort of expected, he added that he had no qualms if KCR announced KTR as his successor.
There was a time when Harish Rao held a strong position in BRS and there would be discussions about he leading the party. However, over the years, Harish Rao has mellowed down and so did the rumours about he heading the party after KCR.
The BRS insiders feel it is natural for KTR to succeed his father. But KCR himself has not broached the topic and during the silver jubilee meeting too, he spoke of BRS coming back to power under his leadership.
With Harish Rao talking about the successor, political circles are now talking of a possibility of KCR announcing KTR as the next leader of the party.
Meanwhile, Harish Rao took the opportunity to clarify that he was not changing party and shared that he filed a case in the police station against false stories doing rounds on social media.
